Review Porsche 977 Bodyshell

A new Porsche 911 is always fascinating because it's interesting to see how after more than 40 years of development the Porsche team still manages to bring changes and improvements to this icon model.
The new 997 bodyshell combines the sleek modern looks of the 996 series with the popular retro styling cues from older 911s. The front end is completed with round lights and separate parking/fog/indicator lights. This change, combined with wider hips echoes the last of the air-cooled 911s, the 993. Other changes in the bodyshell are the new door handles, wing mirrors and the stylish cut of the rear wings into the bumper/lights.

Even if the 997 looks a lot like the previous model, the 996, the new car is actually 38mm wider which creates a more aggressive appearance. With each new model introduced, Porsche has aimed to reduce the drag co-efficient helping the 911 slide through the air more effectively, and so aiding performance. The same thing has been done with the new car, and if we compare the 993 Cd of 0.34 to the 997`s 0.28 we can see how far the aerodynamic game has moved on. The latest body shell and rear wing combine with new underbody paneling to also offer increased levels of down force for this latest evolution of Porsche's finest.
The latest Porsche model is the best handling 911 ever. Improving a car's rigidity helps ensure the suspension can work more effectively and while not making such a quantum leap as the team did with the 996. Porsche improved torsional rigidity by 8% and added as much as 40% more flexural strength.
For the new car, Porsche wanted to improve crash safety so they added two new air bags located in the side of each front seat back-rest, designed to protect the thorax. They kept the previous two front and two side airbags, which means that now there are six in total. For the same reason, crash safety, the reinforced body shell features further protection such as a more extensive use of super high strength steel.
The latest model is also 50 kg heavier than the 996. The reason is that modern crash safety regulations kind of force the new cars to come with increased weight, despite the usage of a large range of weight saving measures, including an aluminum bonnet
Aside from the crash safety improvements, much of the additional weight can be attributed to the higher standard specification of the new cars. Power to weight is similar with the latest car offering 233 bhp per tone against it's predecessors 238 and the new models improved aerodynamics must help it post Porsches claimed performance figures, which are identical to the 996.

Custom Wheels For Your SUV

People who own SUVs can choose to communicate themselves with their tires. They can install a set of loud, flashy tires that demand the attention of the people who watch them cruise by, or they can put on a set of conservative, classy rims that demand the respect of others. SUV owners who have installed a set of stylish wheels know that their rims are far more than a metal disk that supports tires. Do you?
If you are thinking about installing a set of rims on your SUV, the first thing you need to do is decide on a budget. Since wheels can be very pricey indeed it is a good idea to set a limit on your spending from the get go. Setting a price range will also limit the amount of choices available to you, which, counter intuitively, is a good thing, since the vast choices available in rims can be very daunting. And, it will keep you from feeling too guilty for having splurged on too expensive wheels.

After you have set your budget, you can start thinking about which type of metal you want. SUV wheels come in various metals, like chrome, aluminum, or stainless steel. Choosing a metal is very important because it will determine how much care you will need to dedicate to your wheels. The three metals listed above are low-maintenance. Of course, the determining factor in choosing metal should be your personal taste.
After metal, it's time for the best part, choosing which style you want. Style in wheels is a very personal thing. One person cannot tell another which one is best for them, so it will all be up to you. So, think about whether you want the tough looking thick spoked rims that will make your SUV look strong and imposing or a finer looking, refined look that will make your SUV distinctly classy. The good thing is that SUVs can take all manner of wheels and ride with them, so there are few limits to your personal style.
You are sure to have seen the hundreds and hundreds of stores that specialize in dealing with custom and personalized wheels. These would be an excellent spot to start the search for the SUV rims of your dreams. Going to the dealers will let you see wheels in real life, not just on the pages of catalogs, and get a better impression of how it will look when it is installed on your vehicle. And if the store doesn't have the wheel you were thinking of in stock, then they will almost certainly be able to send away for it for you.
If the stores local to your area are not satisfactory, then you could always try to search on the internet. Besides loads of information regarding SUV wheels, you will find images of all kinds of rims and wheels which are designed specifically for the SUVs made today. If you don't want to order the wheels yourself online, you can simply print out the information of the wheels you like and take it to a dealership that will order them for you. There is also the added bonus in that they can even mount the wheels for you!

Tips To Check Transmission Fluid

Of all of the necessary components needed to run a car, the transmission is by far one of the most important. It is where all of the gear shifting is done and this type of thing can be incredibly expensive to repair in the event that it becomes damaged. Transmission fluid needs to be checked regularly much the same way that oil needs to be. It is something that you don't want to forget about if you want to keep your car in the best running condition possible. Checking the transmission fluid is a vital part of car maintenance .Transmission fluid should be checked around every 25,000 miles or so. The fluid and the filter must be changed regularly so that they do not become dirty.

To neglect this could lead to contaminants building up in the fluid and that is not going to be good. You should never mess around when it comes to your transmission.Always pay attention to your car as you drive. When you get to know how it sounds when operating smoothly, you will know when something is wrong. If you know your car then a new or strange sound or feeling will not be missed by you. Pay attention so that you can assess any situations as they arise. If you feel that it is necessary or you have a mechanic recommend it, you can always have your transmission fluid flushed out.

This will help force out any dirt or grime that may be inside the fluid. Some mechanics recommend against a transmission flush so look into this before you make your choice so you can base it on information. It's not a good idea to let your vehicle sit for long periods of time. If it goes without proper service for too long there is a higher chance that you could have metal shavings or other problem items make their way inside. A transmission that is bogged down with metal and junk will need tremendous amounts of care to be in good running shape again. When you check your transmission fluid, always have your vehicle parked on level ground so that you get the right fluid amount. An angle could throw that off a lot and it is not something that you can guess at.

Leave the car idling as you check the fluid. This is one of those maintenance checks that require that the car be left on rather than turned off.Pull out the transmission dipstick and check what the reading says. If it doesn't quite reach the full line then it is low and needs to be topped up. Adding more transmission fluid is not really all that difficult but you must be careful not to add too much. If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself, you can take it to your local mechanic to have it done. Before you add transmission fluid to your vehicle, make sure that it is the best possible one for your vehicle. Not every transmission is the same.

Free Body Kits Installing Tips - Major Style Points

An auto body kit is one of the most exciting upgrades you can do to your vehicle. A good aero kit or body kit can really transform the appearance of the vehicle, and the installer will determine if this is a good or bad transformation. I would personally suggest you find a reputable shop experienced in your type of body kit work. They should know how to work with the material you selected, and how to color match, prep and paint the kit. They should also know how to, if necessary, make adjustments to ensure a proper fitting. Your finished product will be as good as the effort put into it.Having said that, it is never a bad idea to learn something new. Before you begin, make sure you designate enough time to the project to install your body kit right the first time.

This type of body work requires a lot of patience if you are inexperienced at it. Here are some instructions to help you get started on the project. The first thing to do is to prep the body kit for painting. It will be much easier to work on before it is installed. If you do not intend to paint the whole vehicle, it may be wise to color match and paint the body kit prior to installation.Start by removing the pieces that will be replaced. This may include the front and rear bumper covers. You can find the bolts for the front cover in the fender wells and underneath the cover near the frame. Remove these bolts and loosen the cover. Depending on the application, be sure to remove any of the lighting that is attached to it, such as the headlights, side markers, fog lights, etc. Now check to make sure that there isn't anything else holding it in place, such as a grille or license plate holder.

Carefully remove the front bumper cover and set to the side. Keep the hardware handy, as you will need it later. Remove the rear bumper in the same manner, as well as the trim panel located just above the bumper (if applicable). Most cars won't have side skirts at this point, but if it does, remove them by removing the bolts that hold it to the vehicle. They are located on the back of the side skirts.Take your replacement cover and carefully align it to the car and check the fitting. Some of the kits will have 3M adhesive to help hold the kit in place during this process. You may find that the foam inserts are an obstruction to the new body kit. You can either remove them or trim them to size, depending on the application.

I have found that if possible, it is better to trim them to fit because they will help sturdy the body kit so it doesn't appear as flimsy. If you have done your research and purchased a good kit, then you should line up almost perfect. Make some markings as to where you will drill your holes. You can also use the old bumper cover to line up the holes but it may not be as accurate as the fitting approach. If you find yourself in a situation where the kit doesn't line up exactly, there are some things you can do to correct the problem. First, locate the problem areas. They will be most noticeable on the sides where it matches up to the fenders or in the very front where it matches up to the hood. If you notice one side has a bigger seam in these areas than the other side, try moving the cover to the larger seam side in very small increments until there is no longer a difference.

The seam should be the same width as other seams on the car, most notably the same size as the seam from the fender to the door, or the fender to the closed hood. Using these same widths for the seams will create a "seamless" look for the finished product. If your problem area is in the front, you will have to adjust the body kit in small increments until it lines up. If you have too larges of a seam, try gently pulling the kit from the two sides to tighten up the front. it should have a little bit of play in it since it is not bolted down. If the seam is to small, try pushing the sides in towards the front of the vehicle to free up any space. Once the front is adjusted, look to see if the sides are aligned property. If you are happy with the fitment, place the bolts in the holes and tighten them down. Start in the middle, and work your way out to the sides making sure that your seams line up properly. If your kit comes with 3M adhesive on the back side, adhere the kit to the car once the proper alignment is made. This will help hold the kit in place and allow the seams to be smaller in width.

Audi TT Club Haven Qattro

The place of the premiere could be better selected hardly. Not on any autofair, but at the legendary GTI meeting at the Austrian Wörthersee AUDI reveals a study on this weekend already again. , Where for meanwhile 26 years the full power friends of the cars made of wolf castle and Ingolstadt meet to the merry Angasen and are expected in this year more than 200,000 guests, those let all coverings fall and place Bavaria a TT on the stage, which into the Tuningszene fits like Hot Pants or the classical Voku Hila hair-style. All those, which regard the TT rather as a Schönling as for a sports car, want to obviously instruct the AUDI responsible persons with the HP-Event in Kärnten with the type “club haven Quattro” a better one.“Purism on Premium level” reads the work title, under which the designers made the Roadster the Speedster and also still put so the last remainder down of the Bikini.

Because a roof does not have this car no more, and of the windshield only a tiny, darkly sounded strip remains. Goods TT-drivers so far if necessary above without on the way, sit them now formally naked in the wind. The open two-seater looks already at first sight tremendously bad: The powerful single Frame grill is stressed with crosswise presented aluminum props for the first time in the width. Four enormous, vergitterte cooling openings cover the air requirement of the engine, and under headlights now the LED lights of the day headlight gleam grimmig ahead. The club haven Quattro works trained. Finally put on the axles 20-Zöller, on which AUDI 265er drew tires up. The trace of the sportsman is therefore eight centimeters more broadly than with the normal TT and the wheel housings curves like the upper arms of a Bodybuilders after the last Anabolika syringe.

Only the most necessary - also in the engine compartmentAt the same time the designers continued to simplify the silhouette of the car: The outside mirrors are clearly smaller, and there are not door handles any longer. No, one must climb nevertheless not as with a formula-1-car over the parapet wall in the cars, crowned by a circulating aluminum screen. Separate a pressure on the remote maintenance been sufficient, already play the Speedster “Sesam open you” and let the doors jump up. At the tail against it it may be again somewhat more: There the overroll bars were flattened, but but there are two windschnittige peaks on the useless covering box and far down two oval exhaust final pipes, how they strain otherwise only the S-models of the Ingolstädter against their backer. Automove newsEven under the hood maximum minimalism was announced. No concern, on achievement the developers did not do without.

On the contrary, from the S3 well-known gasoline direct injecting he turbo things come to the Porsche killer in the so far strongest version no longer on only 260, but now 300 HP and have thereby always. Even if AUDI keeps the technical data of the engine still for itself. But drum around it works for the engine compartment of a modern car strangely empty and offenherzig. No dust cover prevents the deep view in the Dekolletee, and no Nebenaggregate moves the four-cylinder on the Pelle. Air conditioning system? Active charcoal filter? With so much admission of fresh air one can give oneself that obviously everything.Bright aluminum and rumors of a small seriesThe interior is not completely so asketisch arranged. It smells also here rather after adrenalin as after the aniline of the Gerber.

But on comfort the passengers must hardly do without - at least if they fit comfortably into the running bowls and at the broad belts of point of four do not push. Then they enjoy the view of a abgespecktes running cockpit with perpendicularly standing pointers, stroke the sport steering wheel with flat lower surface or the Schaltknauf in the quadrant from the sports car R8, and let the view curve over more bright aluminum than in every other AUDI.The hand grips of the door, the steering wheel spokes and the footrests do not only gleam matt, but even the pedals were milled from it. In addition there is much black and somewhat oranges leather and as nice Gimmick a MP3-Spieler von Audis acoustic partner fears for & Olufssen, which fits directly into the middle nozzle of the ventilation and like a black diamond over the navigation system thront.

Still the club haven Quattro is a unique piece. But one thinks with AUDI hearing after seriously about the building a small series. The car might cost then clearly more than 50,000 euro. The idea of a TTS already geistert not in vain by the sheet forest for months. In addition the building of such a vehicle leaves itself - which the many hundred knitted sport exhibits show in the mountain idyl - hardly more to prevent. Because if AUDI does not make it, the Freaks among the mark friends makes it even.

Review BMW 650i - Sports Car Enthusiast

The BMW 6 series was relaunched in 2004 with the BMW 645i. This car was a two door, four passenger luxury sports car. This car is ideal for a sports car enthusiast who would prefer a larger, more practical car compared to the 650's 2 passenger, lighter peers. In 2006, BMW upgraded the 645i to a 650i by increasing the engine a little. When including options and taxes, the 650i tends to run at about $80,000, so it's not exactly cheap. Here are the pros and cons of the car:

Pros
Amazing handling: The car is amazing to drive. When you drive the car, you feel as if you have total control over the vehicle. A car such as the Mercedes CLS (also priced near $80k) just cannot match this car's handling. The BMW 650i definitely has the handling one would expect from a German-made luxury sports car.
Gadgets: The BMW 650i comes with BMW's Idrive, an all-encompassing electronic system. The Idrive controls the navigation system, music, air conditioning, as well as communication system. The Idrive also has voice command, making it easy to use when driving. Some believe the Idrive is a bit difficult to operate. That's hogwash. Within two weeks of owning the car, anyone competent enough to use a computer or a DVD should be able to operate the Idrive flawlessly. The Idrive is the gadget-lover's ultimate car toy.
Interior: The interior of the 650i is beautiful. It has modern, classy feel to it. Your taller passengers will certainly appreciate being seated in the front though, as the back is not exactly spacious.
Acceleration: With a V8 and 360 hp, the car isn't exactly going to be outrun by a Civic. The acceleration and amazing breaks can also help you get out of accidents that other cars wouldn't be able to avoid.

Cons
Reliability: Expect to make stops at the service center every now and then. While it is a wonderful car, it is prone to electronic and tire issues.
Price: At about $80,000, it's not exactly in the everyman's budget. But if you are willing to spend this much money on a car, the 650i is definitely a good one to check out.

Free Car Alarms and Demobilisers Tips

Protecting your car from auto theft
While you may be worrying about your car’s gas mileage, and or thinking about a new paint job, there’s something else you might want to keep in mind. Technology in car protection is constantly improving, and one of your first priorities when thinking about your car is its safety. What would happen if someone tried breaking into your car? Would you be informed? Would they be able to start the car? These are some things you might want to look into when choosing your car’s safety.
You might have the infamous sound alarm. Upon disturbance, these will emit a loud, often continuous cacophony, consisting often of the car’s horn, various noises, and sometimes a prerecorded voice. The effectiveness of this is that a criminal doesn’t want to get caught. The instant your alarm goes off, the vandal or thief will likely go running. While you may not catch the crook, your will be where you left it, hopefully without a scratch.
Arming and disarming the alarm can be rather easy. Often, it involves the keys, and the driver can manually shut off the alarm by placing their key in the door. They may also be able to disengage the alarm from a button, usually attachable to the keys. There is also sometimes a button hidden inside the car to override the alarm.

How the alarm is triggered depends on the make and model of your vehicle. There are also many after market alarms, which can be purchased and installed after buying your car. These can be set off from opening the doors or trunk, and also when the hood is opened, or the ignition is turned on. They can also be triggered by an impact to the car, or a difference in voltage in the car, though the latter has become less useful, as car technology is starting to incorporate more electronics into vehicles.
Sirens and alarms, however, are not entirely effective. Some people might be able to get away with the car before you can get to it. Also, due to the number of alarms set off by accident in the past, people in urban areas are generally not prone to respond to a car alarm. So, what’s another good security precaution? Car immobilizers!
Car immobilizers are devices that prevent an unauthorized person in your car from driving away with it. It can prevent hotwiring, because the car will only start when the correct key is inserted. This is because the key contains a miniature circuit, and that will connect the electricity in the car. These have proven so efficient, that they are mandatory in all new cars in several nations, since as early as 1997.
In some cases, attempts to use the car will be reported through satellite or mobile phone. Some people might even try using a unauthorized copy of the key, but while that will not be sequenced, the car will still not start, and the report will be made. These immobilizers, like the alarms, can be purchased post-market, for older cars, which tend to be candidates for small auto theft.
The price of these security measures depends on where you get them, and how efficient they are. But, regardless of the cost, it’s a definite investment to have one installed into your car. You’re pouring the money into your car for insurance, gas, and tune ups anyway, and this is surely just as important as the other things.

Tips on Tune Up Your Car

Many drivers are not informed about the necessary and preventative care that should come with vehicle ownership. Did you know that a regular tune up helps to prevent the vehicle from rusting, increase gas mileage and keep your family safe? Regardless of how busy your life gets, it is crucial that we maintain good technique when taking care of our vehicles. For this reason, it is crucial that we develop good habits like regular oil changes and regular tune-ups for our vehicles.
How often should you get a tune up? Most vehicle experts recommend that a tune up be completed at least once a year. Of course, other times when the vehicle is given attention can shed light on problems, such as, when the vehicle is in for an oil change every 5,000 kilometers but a tune-up gives the vehicle mechanic a chance to examine the engine, the overall working of the vehicle, and, flush any fluids that are required to make the vehicle ride smooth and like new.
What exactly does a tune up cover when you take your vehicle into the shop? What does the mechanic look for? When you take your vehicle into the mechanic, he or she will have a look at the following aspects:
1. Fluids. When you take your vehicle into the mechanic for a tune up it is a chance to flush any fluids from the vehicle that are old and require changing. Did you know that old fluids become harmful to your vehicle and can cause the vehicle to run poorly? Many fluids in the vehicle run through the entire engine, isn’t it time that we made sure that these fluids were safe? Changing these fluids will mean that the engine will run at full capacity, increasing fuel mileage and reducing emissions.
2. Battery. The mechanic will test the battery within the vehicle to ensure that it is running, and charging properly. Many vehicle experts take the time to examine the outside of the battery and clean the terminals in which the battery attaches to the vehicle. Cleaning and checking the battery can assist in creating a longer lifetime. If a new battery is required, this can be determined with proper testing. Most batteries are relatively cheap and can be easily changed at home, without the use of a mechanic. Having a battery that no longer holds its charge could mean becoming stranded on that cold winter day.

3. Wheels are an important part of the vehicle. Did you know that tires are an essential part of vehicle safety and the running of the vehicle? Tires range in price from low to high, depending on the type chosen for the vehicle.
4. Brakes are examined during routine vehicle tune-ups, as this component stops the vehicle from moving it is essential that they are in working order. Replacing parts of or the entire system is completed on an annual basis to ensure that the brakes are in good working order.
Now you are aware of all of the components which are checked when bringing the vehicle in for a tune up. Often, a report will be given about the state of the vehicle and what has been checked. Follow up on any concerns with the mechanic and ensure that a good check up of the vehicle has been completed.

These include new wheel location system for improved kinematics and lateral dynamics, modified stabiliser at the front axle, adjustable wheel camber, and shock absorbers with variable compression. The SLR 722 GT also comes with wheels equipped with central locks to allow fast tire changing during races.

At the rear, the SLR 722 GT offers large rear diffuser and the fixed rear spoiler. This allows the SLR 722 GT to have an aggressive aerodynamic look and performance. An 18-inch light alloy wheels completes the overall exterior appeal of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT. Inside, the SLR 722 GT is equipped with a functional interior inspired by motor sports racing. These include rollover cage, redesigned instrument panel with a racing display, racing steering wheel, bucket seats, and six-point seat belts for safety.

Review Nissan Qashqai - Safest Car

The Nissan Qashqai, a compact crossover SUV, has been rated as Britain's safest car after scoring the highest in Euro NCAP crash tests. The vehicle earned a record-breaking total of 37 points, nearly 100 percent, in the latest round of Euro NCAP crash test assessments.
The Qashqai garnered five-star scores in the front, side and pole impact assessments. It also got four stars for child occupant protection and two in the pedestrian test.
The crossover SUV, the first to be styled by the Nissan Design Europe in London, England, UK, with engineering development led by the Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, was released in Europe and Japan early this year. It will be exported to the Middle East and additional overseas markets.

The top half of Qashqai features the striking Nissan headlight, a sleek dynamic shape with a prominent shoulder line which rises at the rear and that is a design cue identical to that of the Murano. The lower portion of the vehicle resembles a SUV due to gigantic, pronounced wheel arches and a faintly elevated ground clearance. The vehicle is also given four engine choices. Gasoline engines will be a 115 horsepower 1.6 L and a 140 horsepower 2.0 L. Diesel engines include the 106 horsepower 1.5 L and 150 horsepower 2.0 L.
To bolster Qashqai's appeal, Nissan is to add a long-wheelbase seven-seat version. "We are looking at a few things with the Qashqai, but the long-wheelbase car is the most likely to make production," said Nissan’s spokesperson. The larger model will be designed to rival the compact MPV class, tempting purchasers out of bigger seven-seat competitors.

The vehicle will be sharing the P32L automobile platform with upcoming Nissan crossover SUVs. The Qashqai, launched at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, is built at Nissan's NMUK Sunderland plant. "It's arguably the most exciting family car that's been designed, engineered and built in the UK in recent years," added the spokesperson.
Nissan intends to roll out 500 Qashqais off its Wearside production line every day and has big ambitions to sell 15,000 examples in the UK next year. The spokesman added that additional cars will be exported to countries as far away as Japan. The third largest Japanese automaker also aims to sell more than 100,000 Qashqai units a year from February 2007.

Nissan said that the car, named after the nomadic Qashqai tribe, will cater for those car buyers who want a more dynamic design but are not attracted to the large, aggressive nature of a sport utility vehicle. The car slots below the X-Trail in the automaker’s range. It partially replaces the conventional Almera and Primera. In terms of size, its 4310 mm length and 1610 mm makes it fall between compact MPVs, such as the SEAT Altea and Renault Scénic, and compact SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and the Mitsubishi Outlander.
But the Qashqai is not the only model that the Japanese automaker is preparing to launch. Auto Express said that the previous-generation flat-bed Navara is going to be re-introduced next year as some customers do not think the current machine looks rugged enough. However, with the more luxurious Pathfinder-style Navara now using the familiar badge, the resurrected Nissan will need a new name. This prediction has yet to be decided, but could be as straightforward as pickup. “Designing a crossover vehicle presents a real challenge for chassis engineers. A high centre of gravity has a negative effect on handling. Despite this, the Qashqai is surprisingly adept in corners,” said an auto critic. “Combine this with the slick six-speed gearbox and light but well placed pedals, and the Qashqai is a very user-friendly machine.”

Review Ford S-Max - The MPV Strikes Back

The MPV or people carrier as we Brits prefer to call them has often been looked upon with derision by motoring writers. Whilst MPV's are widely used by taxi firms for ferrying people and their luggage to and from airports their image has become somewhat tarnished over time. More often than not they are packed with hoards of screaming dirty faced children, hurling sweet wrappers from the windows and are driven by mums hopelessly distracted by the antics occurring in the back. Anyone who requires seven seats to accommodate their family could frankly do with some advice on contraception.
The main problem however is they are just plain dull, mere boxes on wheels with all the design aesthetics of a house brick with similar handling qualities. Some of the names aren't terribly well conceived either, the Lucida and Estima immediately spring to mind which both sound a bit like the sort of names that C-list celebrities burden their kids with.I read somewhere that the Vauxhall Sintra was deemed by Euro NCAP the European car safety agency to pose a serious threat to passenger occupants during a collision and so vanished rather hastily never to appear again.

All of this seems to have led to the major manufacturers sitting their design teams down and saying "right lets get this sorted once and for all."The last couple of years have witnessed the emergence of a new breed of MPV which is stylish and versatile and packed with the latest safety features. We have also seen a lot of compact MPV's to counter the "family bus" image of previous models. This brings me nicely on to a car which caught my eye when I first saw it and made me realise that the age of driving a sporty car hasn't completely passed me by.
The Ford S-Max is claimed by Ford to be unique mainly as it doesn't fit into traditional MPV classification. In spite of another slightly dubious choice of name the main cause for excitement is that the S-Max was designed to be sporty. At last we finally have an MPV that is cool to be seen in. In fact there is even an S-Max owners club in the UK!The S-Max can still carry seven if required but thanks to its sporty stance it doesn't appear that huge. The roof slopes down at the rear whilst the slightly aggressive front end styling and side vents set it apart from its rivals. There is an air of quality about the car both inside and out thanks to well fitted trim and use of high quality cabin materials. The driving position is excellent and more car-like than other MPV's as it uses the same platform as the new Mondeo which has a large floor pan and gives good interior space.
The back row of seats folds on to the floor of the boot rather than into it which gives more room for luggage and the space created when you fold all the seats down is truly enormous and also creates a totally flat load area.As for driving the steering is impressive and turn-in is positive and sharp. Body movement is limited and the suspension is fairly stiff compared to the usual wallowing ride you get from larger vehicles. The damping is good and the S-Max feels composed and relaxing to drive. The controls are well positioned and there is a six-speed gearbox which provides a slick gear change. General levels of equipment are good on all models with the base level "Edge" model coming in at the lower end and the top of the range being the "Titanium."The optional extras do start to get a bit expensive, cruise control etc which come as standard on a few competitors' models but with the looks and the drive qualities of the S-Max you'll be prepared to sacrifice these luxuries and look forward to enjoying yourself behind the wheel again!

Electric Cars - Best Alternatives To Save Fuel

Electric cars, as the name indicates, are vehicles that work on electricity and whose only source of power is electricity. They are also known as battery electric vehicles. The most advantageous feature of electric cars is that they are zero emission vehicles and so, do not pollute the atmosphere. The number of parts in an electric car is also less as against other hybrid cars
or cars that run on gas. The noise from electric cars is almost negligible. Basically, an electric car is made up of a simple frame, wheels, an electric motor, car battery and an electric on and off switch.

The engine of the electric car is made up of a series of batteries that are attached to an on and off switch and it is in turn, attached to a motor that is electrically operated. Obviously, the electric motor drives the wheels and sets the car in motion. The amount of electricity that goes into the motor is controlled to drive the vehicle in a controlled manner. There are solar cars available that convert solar energy into electricity. The electricity that is stored within the battery of an electric car can be generated from any source, apart from solar, like nuclear, natural gas, coal and petroleum. Since electric cars have a low center of gravity, the initial acceleration is quite rapid and can be handled quite easily. But, the fact of the matter is, that the lithium ion batteries used in cars are very expensive making the overall price of the car expensive and these batteries have to be replaced once in three or four years. In addition, the charging of the battery takes almost three or four hours to fully recharge and therefore needs prior planning, if the electric car is to be used for longer distances.

This also means that the batteries can be charged only from the initial point of journey because there may not be too many charging stations on the way. People also feel that the electric cars are not most suitable for driving long distances and can be nightmarish, if the car runs out of battery or in the midst of busy traffic. Normally, an electric car offers the equivalent of twenty miles per gallon and the cost to run a mile is nearly three cents. Further more; there is no expenditure on tune ups, oil changes and the like in an electric car.

So, people who are environment friendly and want to paint a greener world can opt for an electric car. The choice would not only be appreciated by others but it would also fill the pocket of the owner because it saves a lot of fuel in the long run. Even though man affords to purchase oil what with soaring oil prices, oil is a depleting natural resource and it is our duty to save this resource for our future generations.

BMW Bluetooth Integration - Free Tips on How It Works

BMW Bluetooth integration is available for BMW's that did not come with it factory installed. This can add greater functionality toyour BMW vehicle, as well as greater convenience and safety. It is no secret that use of a cell phone while driving can be hazardous to your safety and that of others – and increasingly, this practice is being outlawed throughout the nation. The biggest benefit that BMW Bluetooth integration can provide you is that the danger of using a cell phone while driving is eliminated. You’ll be able to make outgoing calls and receive them without ever having to touch your actual cell phone!

About Bluetooth
Bluetooth (named for a Viking king who brought the entire Scandinavian Peninsula under his rule for a short time during the Middle Ages) is an industry-wide standard, electronic protocol that allows a range of different digital devices to “talk” to each other without the need for cumbersome, tangled cords. These run the gamut from personal computers
to game consoles today, but the earliest use of Bluetooth was to integrate cell phones into automobiles , so drivers could use these devices without having to take their hands off the steering wheel. BMW Bluetooth integration means just that – you’ll be able to use your cell phone while keeping your eyes on the road and maintaining control over your vehicle. No physical connection between your cell phone and your vehicle is necessary.
Features Galore
BMW Bluetooth integration allow you to control your cell phone using nothing more than your steering wheel and radio controls. You’ll be able to go though your digital phone book, dial numbers and adjust the volume easily and safely.
If your cell phone supports such features, you can also display information on your BMW’s dashboard console and even activate it using voice commands. In addition, BMW Bluetooth integration using a quality kit from Bavarian Soundwerks means you’ll never miss an important call just because you’re listening to the radio. Whenever you make an outgoing call or receiving an incoming one, BMW Bluetooth integration allows your cell phone to mute the programming playing on your sound system at that moment.
Easy and Affordable
Bavarian Soundwerks assembles each BMW Bluetooth integration kit from genuine BMW parts. These kits use the original OEM wiring and come with clear, step-by-step instructions. With virtual “plug-and-play” capability, you’ll have your vehicle ready for “hands-free” cell phone operation in minutes. Bavarian Soundwerks BMW Bluetooth integration kits are also compatible with your existing equipment, as long as your vehicle is not equipped with BMW Assist (this must be removed before installing a BMW Bluetooth integration kit). BMW vehicles that were not originally manufactured for the U.S. market must also have a factory installed phone system
or “Option 640” pre-wiring.

Free Car Insurance Tips For Women

Car insurance companies are generally “kinder” to women drivers. This is because it is statistically proven that females practice more caution on the road as compared to their male counterparts. They are also involved in car accidents which are less serious in nature since they are not aggressive on the road.
So if you are a female driver and you are looking for a car insurance company to handle your needs, you have better chances of getting a lower monthly premium. Or, at the very least, you will be entitled to a discount.

Here are 3 quick tips for women looking to sign up with an auto insurance company:
1. Search online or ask around for more women friendly insurance companies
You could get about 10% off your car insurance premiums. There are even companies that specialize in offering services for women drivers. Ask other women and get their recommendations on which auto insurance companies they prefer.
2. When talking to a broker, give them a detailed description of your driving history. If you have never been involved in a car accident and your record is clean, you can negotiate for a lower monthly insurance premium.
However, if your driving history indicates an involvement in a car accident, either as a passenger or a driver, you will be offered a slightly higher amount. But you can still get the best rates possible in spite of a not-so-clean driving record.
Having an overview of your driving history should also give the broker an idea of the premium insurance costs that you can get.
3. Find out what your options are in terms of payment.
Many companies offer full or bi-annual payment plans. While others may offer payments be made on an installment basis, it would do you good to check into that too. If you’re not familiar with the dealings of the auto industry, its not that easy to get an auto insurance policy.
Just remember that when dealing with insurance brokers, specify your needs as a female driver and check out all the options that they can offer. Then you can decide which company it is that you would like to handle your car insurance needs.

Mazda Embraced A New Design Philosophy

The Mazda Motor Corp. has embraced a new design philosophy imbibed in the Nagare vehicle. The automaker zeroed in on flowing design which will become more apparent in its upcoming vehicles. The vehicles sporting the new design philosophy are expected to be mass produced by 2012.
The Japanese automaker changed course in recent years to try to keep its products fresh, said Franz von Holzhausen, the design director of Mazda's North American operations. "At Mazda, we didn't necessarily feel our cars were moving," he told a design forum audience at the Detroit Auto Show Wednesday.
With the warm acceptance of the Nagare, a Japanese word for “flow,” Mazda introduced five concept vehicles to sport the new design philosophy. One of which is the Furai concept which was launched at the North American International Auto Show this week.

The ferocious Furai is a contemporary elucidation of the rotary powered supercar. "Furai purposely blurs boundaries that have traditionally distinguished street cars from track cars. Historically, there has been a gap between single-purpose racecars and street-legal models - commonly called supercars - that emulate the real racers on the road. Furai bridges that gap like no car has ever done before," noted von Holzhausen. "It proves that this sense of Nagare philosophy is real. It's an exploration of texture."

The automaker’s highly acclaimed Nagare styling describes the flow of water, air, people or things moving in a particular direction. Furai might only be 1-metre high but is a shade over 2-metre wide and sports classic proportions, striking an undeniable presence, wrote Wheels24.
The Furai is equipped with a Courage C65 chassis which the automaker campaigned for the American Le Mans Series in 2006. Additionally, the vehicle boasts of a 335kW triple-rotor rotary engine that drives through an X-trac six-speed transmission mated to reliable paddle shifters.
With the charms of the Furai, Mazda acolytes could be looking forward for the production version of the vehicle as early as now. "You will see this design philosophy in the future," von Holzhausen said.
Another striking car from the maker of the efficient Mazda rotors is the Taiki, also introduced at the NAIAS but was previously displayed in Japan. The Furai, the Taiki and other upcoming vehicles from the esteemed Japanese automaker will continuously boost the “flow” of its new design philosophy.

Free Sony MEX-1GP Installation Tips : The Next Generation of Car MP3 Players

For all of those MP3 music owners, the future of car audio is finally here for you. Gone are the days where you had to burn your MP3s onto a CD for playback in your car audio system. Sony recently released the MEX-1GP CD receiver, a CD receiver that also features a built-in 1 GB flash memory unit. So now your car audio CD receiver behaves in the same manner as your iPod or other type of MP3 player. The 1 GB flash memory unit can store up to 500 of your favorite songs, giving you plenty of playback time for your music. This little device will make even the longest of trips in your car smoother and more enjoyable, since you will not have to worry about changing CDs any longer.

Aside from playing MP3s, this CD receiver also plays CDs (as the name implies) along with burned CD-Rs and CD-RWs so that those who wish to play their old CDs can still take advantage of this nifty product. However, the real attraction to this new car audio head unit is the MP3 playability. The flash memory unit is located in the detachable faceplate. Here resides the USB port which allows you to connect the faceplate to your PC (similar to your iPod or other MP3 player). Once your faceplate is connected to your CD, you simply drag and drop the MP3 files onto the flash memory unit of the faceplate. Unfortunately the faceplate is only compatible with Windows operating systems, so all of you Mac owners will have to go to your buddy’s house to copy the MP3s to and from the Sony MEX-1GP.
The new receiver is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye as well. It is finished in a high-gloss black color and features a 13-segment LCD display for simple navigation of track and title information. The screen displays album, artist and track name when playing your MP3 music files. Users can shuffle or repeat tracks, albums or personalized groups through controls on the faceplate or with the supplied remote control. The MEX-1GP unit has a built-in 208-watt power amplifier and a three-band equalizer enabling clear, rich sound. The selectable rear/subwoofer preamp outputs, controls the frequency and output level of an external amplifier.
After installing this receiver and experiencing it for a little over a week, I must say that I am quite impressed with this product. For one, the sound quality when playing MP3s through this unit is nothing less than phenomenal. If you didn’t know any better, you would think that you were playing a CD with the crisp and clear playback quality of this head unit. While traveling on a three hour road trip (three hours each way, six hours total) I was able to listen to one selection of songs on the way up and an entirely different selection of songs on the way back, all without the hassle of changing CDs and enduring a pause in play. I’m just a little surprised it took so long for a product like this to hit the market, especially with the increasing popularity of portable MP3 devices such as the iPod over the last several years. While it may have taken awhile for a product like this to hit the market, I’m sure Sony will have plenty of competitors very soon, which will benefit car audio enthusiasts like myself.

Review Classic Aston Martin DB4GT

The latest look back at old classified advertisements features a 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT offered for sale in the March 1987 issue of Hemmings for $59,500.
The Aston Martin DB4GT was a special lightweight, high-performance version of the DB4. Introduced at the 1959 London Motor Show, the GT featured a thin, lightweight aluminum body and enclosed headlights. The wheelbase was dramatically reduced five inches from a standard DB4, in an effort to improve handling and to further reduce the weight.

The Aston Martin's 3670 cc DOHC straight six cylinder engine was upgraded with a new twin-plug head, triple Weber carburetors and higher compression, resulting in 302 hp. Top speed was 153 mph with a 6.1 second dash to 60 mph.
In total, 75 GTs were built in this body style, plus 19 Zagato bodied cars and one Bertone-styled car christened the Bertone Jet.
This particular 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT, chassis 0112, is reported to be, "correct and original in every detail, ready to race or tour." The seller also rightly states that the DB4GT "is competitive with the 250 SWB Ferrari at a fraction of the cost."
Chassis 0112 was last publicly seen at the Coys auction in 1996 where it failed to sell at $135,900. The Cars That Matter September – December 2008 price guide suggests $1,150,000 - $1,500,000 for an Aston Martin DB4GT, while another GT did not sell at the Bonhams Quail auction in August, despite a high bid of $1,200,000.
If you bought the Aston Martin DB4GT for $59,500 in 1987, then your investment would have returned approximately 16% over 21 years.

2008 Saleen Mustang - Well Known Powerful Car

Saleen is well known for the incredible Mustangs that they deliver to consumers. Each and every vehicle that they produce is one that many of us would love to get our hands on because of the craftsmanship, performance, and power that is put into it.
In 2008 Saleen revealed the S320E Mustang. It has been equipped with a 302 cubin inch engine that was specially made by Saleen and has been augmented with a patented Saleen twin screw and intercooler supercharger. With this engine the S320 can produce 620 horsepower and 600 pound-ft of torque.
“We believe that we are in the process of creating a legendary new car. It’s thrilling,” says Saleen President and CEO, Paul Wilbur. “It seemed to make sense that as we go into our 25th Anniversary as a manufacturer in North America that we make our best and most powerful car yet.”

This new model - which has been given the nickname “Extreme” - has been built with a number of high quality performance parts that reveal to consumers the race engineering heritage that they are known for. The unique engine that is placed inside the car is a forged crankshaft with forged connecting rods and forged pistons that have been blueprinted individually. It is also built with 5 axis CNC aluminum cylinder heads, high performance camshafts, and high flow fuel injectors.
Each one of the parts work together simultaneously with the Saleen twin screw supercharger. It is connected to a 6 speed manual transmission and Max grip rear differential - which allows it to reach from 0 to 60 mph in less then 4 seconds.
“This place represents a kind of automotive “mecca” for me. We are making limited volume, performance vehicles for people who really love cars, by people who really love cars. I cannot think of a better place to put my 35 years of OEM engineering history to work,” says Vice Chairman and Chief Technical Officer Chris Theodore. Chris Theodore is also known as the father of the Ford GT. “Now I am helping build great Saleen cars in the same factory that I architected for the legendary Ford GT.”
“This is the best motor that we have ever done,” says Powertrain Engineering lead Rob Simons. “We have really benefited from having Chris [Theodore] around. He brings perspective and experience to the company unlike anything that we have known prior.”
In order to get the best performance out of the this Mustang the engineering team used a standard 20 inch, 5 spoke forged aluminum allow wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires. But in order to have large amounts of power added to the car you must be able to control it. Otherwise we would be all over the road with it. To have the type of control that we need engineers equipped the Extreme with a Saleen Racecraft suspension and a second generation, brand new Watts Link system that will help the driver stay in control of the vehicle when taking sharp corners.
The chassis system has been rounded by upgraded 4 wheel disc brakes and ABS and traction control. The performance brake system features 15 inch vented, slotted rotors, with 6 piston calipers in the front and 11.8 inch rear vented discs with single piston calipers in the back.

Free Honda CR-V Body Kits Guides - To Look Noticeable

No matter how appealing the Honda CR-V looks, you are not the only person who has it. In fact, people see a Honda CR-V almost anywhere and its appeal has become ordinary.
If you want your Honda CR-V to look noticeable, you will have to exert efforts in customizing it according to your creativity and the design you have in mind. Body kits are exterior modifications for your vehicle responsible for modifying the look of your vehicles. But where do you find a Honda CR-V body kit? Well, since Honda CR-V is a car that is common to almost everyone.

Finding a Honda CR-V body kit should not be that hard. You can tour your local neighborhood shops and ask if they have exterior part for your CR-V. If it happens that they do not have a lip, bumper replacement, or a wide body perfect for your CR-V, then better if you just go online than tiring yourself from driving. Online shopping is actually more convenient and not to mention, it will save you a lot of money you are supposed to spend on gas. Just remember to find a reliable and trusted online shop. Many had already been scammed and the smartest thing to do is not add up to their numbers by researching carefully about the company or seller you are dealing with.

You can phone Better Business Bureau and see if the company or companies on your list are registered with them. If a company is registered with them then that is a good sign. BBB protects consumers by ensuring that each and every company registered or associated to them are being constantly monitored. According to BBB, they ensure that high standards for trust are set and maintained. They exist so consumers and businesses alike have an unbiased source to guide them on matters of trust. They provide educational information and expert advice that is free of charge and easily accessible to those who need it.
After finding a shop that is reliable and honest, you can now proceed with knowing what kind of CR-V body kits suits you. There are usually just two kinds of body kit: urethane and fiberglass. Though fiberglass proves to be more expensive, it does not suit those who live in cold places with bumpy roads for the reason that fiberglass can break easily. Fiberglass can be repaired, but again it will prove to be costly.

If you want a quality body kit, urethane should be your best pick. Urethane can stand any weather conditions including harsh and unpredictable climate change. It is also very durable and does not easily crack when exposed to uneven or bumpy roads. Urethane, as a whole, is known for its flexibility and durability. Keep in mind though that when a urethane breaks, it cannot be repaired. Therefore, you will have to think of a replacement.
See, customizing your Honda CR-V and being different from the rest are not at all hard to do, it only requires some effort in knowing what your design is and in knowing where to get it from.
Honda CRV is truly one of the cheapest and flexible vehicle ever made. Thanks to it, many can now customize their vehicles according to who they really are.

2008 Mercedes C-class

Mercedes-Benz is one of the many luxury automakers on the market. They do what they can to create a car that will meet the specifications of the consumers that they cater to. This means that they must produce a car that has the right level of comfort and performance at the right price. One of their most successful models has always been the C-Class. In order to make sure that this trend continued engineers at Mercedes-Benz worked long hours to build a virtual prototype of the new 2008 C-Class. They used 2130 gigabytes of data and used computer simulations to test every detail of the new car.

The “spec book” was 360 pages long and covered the level of comfort that the new could offer. And this was just one out of 250 component spec books that was made. The engineers would then ‘drive’ the virtual car on the ‘road’ and ‘highways’ to see how it would perform. This saved them both time and money.Never before have we seen Mercedes take such care as to the type of model that they are producing. They took the time and practice to make sure that every detail was right and every thing was the way that it should be. In the end they created a car that consumers could enjoy and would want to trade in their old cars for.

To make sure that the car would be available for all consumers they produced the 2008 C-Class in two models; Sport and Luxury. Each of these models come with their own special trim levels, front end treatments, and suspension tuning. Top Three European Cars for 2009 - Fiat 500 , Civic Type-R and Focus RS

It has always been the dream of every American motoring enthusiast to travel to the countries of Europe to see and drive the different variations of automobiles that are offered. Sadly, the closest us Yankees ever come to this fantasy is to look at pictures in European automobile magazines or to watch footage from European TV shows (i.e. Top Gear). These strange yet beautiful vehicles are usually faster, more fuel efficient and cheaper then most of the vehicles offered on U.S. soil, due to our government-enforced emissions and regulations. Here is a quick look at three of the best European cars for the 2009 model year. None of which will be shipped to America.

2009 Fiat 500 Abarth Edition
This little pocket rocket from Italy is the modified performance version of the award-winning Fiat 500. The Abarth division (formed in 1949) has taken the base 1.4 liter engine and turbocharged it to the tune of 135 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque. Abarth is also offering another version of this lightweight racecar called the SS, which will have an astonishing 160 horsepower.

Abarth has also upgraded the little Fiat’s braking and suspension, with pieces from the best manufacturers on the market. The new 500 comes standard with a beefed-up Alfa Romeo gearbox, hydraulic clutch system, big Brembo brakes, OZ lightweight wheels, and fat Pirelli tires. They even offer Abarth apparel (complete with scorpion logos) to compliment your new ride.

This go-kart-esque vehicle also features a sophisticated engine management system with three different modes to increase or decrease steering and throttle responses. It also has an option to increase engine torque levels when you hit those straight-away back roads. All this is done with a few pushes of the “Sport” button that is mounted on the vehicle's dashboard.

All this performance and technology can be had for a measly $26,000 (converted to U.S. currency). And get this; the Abarth 500 still gets 43.5 miles per gallon! Who needs a Toyota Prius when you are driving a 2000 pound racecar for a fraction of the cost and same gas mileage?

2009 Honda Civic Type-R
Ah yes, the Civic that got away. Or at least the version that never made it to America. Honda has been building their Type-R variation cars for years and only the Integra model made it to the U.S. market. For 2009, a completely different version Civic has been created for the Asian and European performance enthusiasts.

This three-door hatchback is only offered in the European marketplace and the bigger four-door version is only offered in Japan. Neither will ever be sold in America, even though Americans buy more cars from the Honda Motor Company than any other country. Lame? You bet. To make matters worse, the new Type-R Civic is the fastest and best handling version yet.

With a redesigned 2.0 liter iVTEC engine (variable valve timing with intelligence) this Civic screams to redline with 198 horsepower and 142 lb-ft of torque mated to a close-ratio 6 speed manual gearbox. With lightened body panels and suspension bits, the Type-R weighs in at 2793 pounds, which allows it to sprint to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 146 mph.

With an 8000 rpm redline and one of the quickest shifting transmissions on the market, this Type-R wins in the best-to-drive category of all compact European cars. The revised steering system and stiff Honda suspension setup makes this the closest a Civic can get to an actual racecar. Prices start at $18,000 (U.S. dollars) and the Type-R also manages an impressive 31 miles per gallon on the highway.

2009 Ford Focus RS
Hold on, the Ford Focus is available in America, right?

Yes, the boring econo-box from Ford has been available is the states for quite some time. But this is the Focus RS, and it is utterly spectacular compared to the model we are all used to. You see, in Europe they actual race the Focus models in the WRC (World Rally Cross) and these little Fords win many of the races, suprisingly. That is why they offer the Focus RS (“Rally Sport”) only in Europe, because of rally regulations, which state the rally cars must be based on production version cars.

This Focus, unlike the American version is fast, it looks good and handles amazingly. It is the best RS version yet. It features a turbocharged 2.5 liter-5 cylinder engine that produces a whopping 300 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque. All this power is put through the front wheels, which usually creates the infamous “torque steer”. This is the phenomenon when too much power is put upon the front wheels and the tires tend to spin upon hard cornering. But this new RS employs a “RevoKnuckle” system to split this rush of torque between the front wheels in an efficient fashion, so that handling speeds are not sacrificed.

The European Focus will also feature 19 inch racing wheels, sticky Continental tires and big vented disc brakes in the front and rear for 2009. A six-speed gearbox and hip-hugging Recaro racing seats should keep the driver comfortably-busy, during spirited drives on dirt roads and highways. All these features should add up to an all-around amazing sports car for everything from track days to work commutes. Pricing and mileage results have yet to be released by Ford, but more coverage will follow as the release date for the new RS is set of early 2009.

Free Suspension Bushes Tips : For Car Steering Stability

Continuous movement on the road is not easy and it takes a lot of hard work and mechanism for a car to do so. Its four tires are supported by the suspension system which takes care of the pits and jerks on the road. You can not imagine driving a car without a suspension system. Due to this system your vehicle gives a smooth feel. And suspension bushes are an integral part of the suspension system. Although there is no need of suspension system on a perfectly flat road but unfortunately there are no such road. They are far from flat and sometimes you can see even fresh highways having pits that can interact with the tires of your car. These imperfections of the road apply forces to the wheels of your car which is bad for its health and to avoid this suspension bushes have been utilized. They control the abnormal friction between the road and your car and act as noise and friction absorbers.

In fact, the car suspension system maximizes the normal friction between the 4 tires of your car and the road surface. It provides steering stability with good handling and ensures your comfort which is one of the major functions of the suspension bushes. These parts are fitted to your car at all those points where the chassis is joined to a moving suspension component. They act like a noise and vibration absorbing barrier between the road and the car and this is due to them that your car's speed is maintained for a long period. These days’ polyurethane has been used for making these parts because the material is a combination of high tensile strength and elasticity that provides immense durability in the toughest conditions.
The resilience of polyurethane helps in springing back of suspension bushes to the original shape easily to absorb shock and prevent dirt ingress and wear. And due to these auto-mechanics and car-experts advise to use poly suspension bushes always.

Solar Powered Vehicles - Best Fuel Alternative

Solar power is not a new concept by any means. It has been used for many years in such things as calculators and even by swimming pools for heating the water. But the use of solar power for automobiles is still a relatively new method of study. Solar power is a natural means of energy that is given off everyday. If it could somehow be utilized in the proper way, it may prove to be an efficient source of power. The race to discover the best fuel alternative ison as science continues to seek a better way.Solar power is really nothing more than the energy that is given off by the sun. The key is finding the right means of trapping it and making it useful for other purposes.

Solar powered grids are often used to attract the sunlight and absorb the sun's energy. It can then be transmitted to the object that needs to be powered. It may come as a surprise to some consumers to learn that science has been studying solar powered vehicle options for years already. Many solar powered cars are very small and not ideal for today's market. But with increasing amounts of study this possibility might become a reality sooner than we think. Scientists have even been racing their solar powered creations in order to see how they hold up.Solar powered options have been considered for today's current vehicles. Mazda once created a sunroof that was solar powered. It was designed to keep the inside of the car warm when it was not running and the temperature outside grew cold. These innovations are just a hint of what might be right around the corner. One of the most obvious concerns regarding a solar powered car is what one would do if the clouds cover the sun.

Normally, that would result in the loss of power and the car would come to a stop. And that certainly is not realistic in rush hour morning traffic. To fix this problem, a backup battery is included to automatically take over when the sun is absent. For using a solar powered car, the energy from thesun would have to be diverted to both the backup battery as well as running the car. Otherwise, there wouldn't be enough energy
to cover both facets. This could be seen as a serious disadvantage of a solar powered car.Another drawback of using solar power as a fuel alternative is that it has to be converted after it comes from the sun. It just cannot be done direct. This might include added costs just to obtain
the energy needed to power both the car and backup battery. The solar cars that are currently in use by science for study are nothing like today's cars. You cannot get in them and they are very low to the ground. It is virtually improbable to see this get on the market. However, if the idea behind this model could be upgraded to fit the cars of today, it may be a worthy possibility.

Car Mirrors - Widely Use For Your Vehicle

Mirrors are used almost everywhere. From houses to stores, these things are already considered staples. With mirrors, rooms are made to look bigger while some are used to view one’s self or an object. Among the many machines dependent on mirrors are automobiles. The car mirror assembly, which is comprised of different mirror types, is definitely necessary in the safe operation of a vehicle.
First, there is the rear-view mirror, which is attached to a swivel mount above the windscreen. From the name itself, this type is designed to view the back portion of the vehicle, especially when the driver shifts the gear in reverse. While parking , for example, the driver can look at this mirror to see if there are any obstructions at the back. Another type of car mirror is the side-view mirror, which is strategically attached on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides. This type is often used when turning and changing lanes. While his vehicle is in motion, a driver glances at each mirror once in a while to check vehicles or other objects coming from the sides. These two types are the most common mirrors but there is also another one used in some vans called the back mirror. Installed at the rear window, this type allows the driver to see the tail end of the car so that he can estimate proper distance when parking or when in the middle of a tight traffic.

To have the car mirror assembly is one thing but to keep it in its proper position is another. The side-view mirrors, for example, are best positioned to view 90 percent of the road and 10 percent of the car body. In this angle, the driver has a good perspective of both the road and the vehicle. This proper side-view mirror position is also best achieved if the vehicle has a power mirror feature. This technology enables the driver to adjust the mirrors without the need to open the windows and reach for the mirrors to change their position manually. A more precise position of the side-view mirrors is achieved simply by pressing the corresponding buttons on the power mirror console.
These uses of the car mirror assembly only show why this is a staple in every vehicle whether it is a compact car or a heavy-duty truck. Without these mirrors, operating an automobile properly can be a really inconvenient task. More importantly, these parts are designed and are used to promote the safety of the driver, his passengers, and even of other motorists.
